Greensofas.com takes great pride in its workmanship. Each sofa is hand made in the United States by expert craftsman using the finest environmentally responsible materials. We use traditional building techniques to ensure every sofa will last a lifetime. Below is a list of the quality features of our eco friendly furniture.

Frames: 
We only use kiln dried, FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified wood, which is harvested in a sustainable fashion from well-managed forests that responsibly protect endangered species and old growth trees. All our frames are warrantied for life against squeaking and cracking.

Springs: 
We offer two types of 100% recycled steel spring constructions.  The standard is an 8 1/2 gauge (no sag), used by most of the high priced stores at the mall. The other option is an 8 way hand tied version, found in the world's finest sofas. This spring is considered the “greener” choice because of its extremely long life span. Both constructions are warrantied for life.

Cushions:
(Please Note: We do not use any down as we are sensitive to the ethical treatment of animals)
Our standard eco cushion is a multi-layer, soy-based foam wrapped in recycled fiber. After the cushion is made it is placed in a hypoallergenic bag. Our premium cushions have 100% natural latex cores made from sustainably harvested rubber tree sap. This comfortable and resilient material is biodegradable and does not produce off gases like traditional foams. Natural latex cushions have a lifetime warranty against loss of shape and are not treated with any flame retardants. 

Adhesives:
We use 100% solvent-free, water-based glues on all furniture. These adhesives emit little or no VOCs (volatile organic compounds), unlike conventional glue products, making them less smelly and far safer for use in the home. Water-based glues do not negatively impact indoor air quality, so you stay healthy while your sofa sticks together.

Fabrics:
We only use biodegradable fabrics made of 100% natural materials because of their reduced environmental impact and positive health benefits. We also offer Green Gard fabric protection (water based, ozone friendly, phosphate free and carcinogen free) with a 5 year warranty against stains, rips, tears, and burns.
